Sergio Mello serves as the Chief Operations Officer at Paradox Science Institute. He is a senior executive and entrepreneur with over 28 years of experience in marketing, large-scale operations management, and experiential platform design. He has held leadership roles at world-leading entertainment companies. Sergio holds a bachelor’s degree in product design.

After successfully exiting his previous venture in 2014, Sergio redirected his career toward supporting startups and initiatives in tech, science, and health. Driven by a deep curiosity about human experience, he transitioned from immersive entertainment and engagement platforms to exploring the frontiers of science, technology, and consciousness. This shift led him to focus on innovative projects that merge creativity with rigorous scientific research.

Since its inception, he has been a key contributor to Paradox Science Institute, helping to establish its foundation, shape its culture, and oversee its operations. He also played a strategic role in launching the Pioneer Science Initiative, where he currently serves on the board of executive directors. Additionally, he is a board advisor for The Ocean Foundation and the Palo Alto Museum.

Sergio lives with his wife, Natalia, and their twins, Chiara and Francesco. Fatherhood has profoundly reshaped his perspective, deepening his appreciation for the interconnectedness in nature and its role in spiritual growth. He finds inspiration in meditation and time spent in the wild, where he connects with nature as a source of inner peace, intuition, and knowledge. Assisi in Italy is one of his favorite places to recharge and connect to a deeper sense of purpose.
